Glory of the snow

I planted these in march 2003 from a trade. They did not come up in 2004. Today I see that 4 of them has emerged. What a pleasant surprise. of course she sent 50 bulbs but I thought the voles may have eaten them. I remember they were small. Any reason why these have finally emerged?

thanks,
Linda

I wouldn't know, I'm too new, but they are cool. Nice surprise huh! I composted some old junk tulip bulbs last year and now I have about 25 tulips poking through in the veggie garden. These surprises are cool!

Bulbs are not know to be asleep for a year unless you got them out of someones garden after they flowered. Then they would just now emerge in your garden.

The tulips, they are just a single leaf coming through or several leaves like on a stem?

It been a couple of years now but I am assuming that these were given after they bloomed. I knew they would not come up in 2003 as the trader mentioned this in her email. I knew I had to wait another year. I thought perhaps they were too small and had to grow alittle.Linda
