Looks like you did a great job Judy. I also have a couple trades of Water Celery ready. And I am interested in any named waterlilies that I dont currently have.
thanks
charlotte

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Thanks Judy!!!

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

I received the following offer:

"I could donate to you guys several baggies of small water lettuce and maybe some parrots feather, too. You could perhaps share it with the rest of the group wanting water lettuce??
They are small and still a little yellow from winter but should do well as it warms up."

Since I probably have the smallest pond would one of the above listed people like to be the one to receive and distribute???

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Crimsonsalvo, what is fairy fern? Sounds interesting. Is this a water plant or floater?

Good job, Judy.

If no one else wish's to help distribute the water lettuce Judy, I will volunteer. Don't tell my DH as he thinks I do too much volunteering now.
Oh well, what he don't know won't hurt him, right?
He is facing a total hip replacement after the garden is in. Will be 2nd go around for hip replacement.

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

Maxine, sorry to hear that about your husband-what a pain for both of you.
I would be interested in hearing what types of dahlias you have.

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Will ask my daughter as they are hers! She has them marked tall, mid and short, and stores them in my fruit cellar for the winter. Her basement is too warm.
Will ask her when we see her at Easter, what colors she has.
I know that she has some beauttttiiiiiiful dahlias.

Maxine

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

Thats great. I have some water plants that are almost ready to trade.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

It's a floater.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

If someone is trying to clear out something, I'd be happy to put it in a big tub in my greenhouse. I have an extra pump that I could stick out there.

Moscow, TN(Zone 7a)

Be careful that faiy moss can take on a life of its own. You will probably be scooping it out by the bucket full by mid summer but it is great for shade in the spring. Someone was sending me some and water lettuce. I need it as soon as possible. The pond is already greening up. Am I sending postage? Do not need parrot's feather, I have quite a bit. The lotus are history for this year.

Judy you did a wonderful job thanks!

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

SG is totally right. It can take over- but is easy to remove and makes great composte!

Your lotus died SG???

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Looking at the picture that was posted, YES, I did have that plant and it became a nusiance having to clean it out of the ponds.

Can some one tell me I had at one time. Can't carry it over, so only good for summer here in Wisc.

It was a floater and had a gorgeous blue flower. clustered If I remember right.

I would like some of that, if some one has some.

Maxine

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Sounds like water hyacinth.
Mine are just starting to come back- but they are not looking good guys. :-(

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Problem - Need help please.

A gracious DGer sent me a box of Lettuce to distribute to the above people who want it. When they arrived today they had lost all their roots, roots look healthy just not attached. I can't imagine why??

I put them in plain well water hopeful that they grow new roots, any ideas on how to speed up the process. I do not have aquatic fertilizer.

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

Miracle grow works for hyacinth. I float them in a bucket of MG water all day/ or over night and then return to reg water.

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh dear- never heard of that happening Judy!
I don't know if they will survive or not. That's really odd- all the roots were off? Wonder if there's a bug in there lopping them off? Watch your fingers!!!

I am gonna start shipping plants this week guys. I've lost my list of who I owe and what I owe. If possible please send me an email with your address, what you want and if we have a trade going or SASBE.

Sorry for the bother!!

Much love-
Jocie!

Milo, ME(Zone 4a)

judy this is mainersoes -robin what do you have aval

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

I believe the water lettuce is recovered enough so that it can be distributed this coming week.

This offer is open to the above people only. Please let me know if you want me to send you some.

Judy

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Judy- you want me to send you some money to help cover shipping?

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

I can't remember who I owe WHAT??

I don't think that my mini cat tails made it thru the winter. Have been soaking them, but nothing green has shown up yet.

Have dahlias for trade, again I can't say what color. Terrible aren't I, but my daughter didn't mark any thing.

Maxine

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Lettuce has to be shipped this week... I've been summons for Jury Duty for the month of May and won't have time to ship plants or seeds after this weekend.

I'm sending the lettuce out for postage, so let me know if you want some. Post here or send me an email.

The DG person who so graciously sent these for distribution was MsCritterkeeper. I insisted upon paying for the postage from TX to my house, but am only asking you to pay from my house to yours.

Judy

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Judy I want some. Sending you an E-mail

Soquel, CA(Zone 9a)

am I too late to hop on?
I have duckweed (beware invasion!) and hyacinth.
would love iris, lotus/lilies, vareigated acorus, mini cattail...
just smuggled a few white lotus seeds back from holland: poked my finger good nicking them for the soaking! they better sprout now that they have had blood sacrifice : )
let me know if this trade is over and I will post a new thread
tatyana

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

sevensisters - I'm sorry but I had to laugh about the blood sacrifice. My sister went to Thailand and brought be back several packages of different color Lotus and after I read how you have to basically cut out a rectangle in the outer seed shell, I'd been wondering how I was going to accomplish that WITHOUT a blood sacrifice. Best of luck with them and keep us updated on your progress.

This poor old thread is worn out so if you would open a new one it would be appreciated.

Judy

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Judy, please send me some of the lettuce also, and will send postage money as soon as I know how much.

Maxine

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Guys- I hate to do this. I can't send out anymore plants for a bit. I got really bogged down with swapping and some stuff.
If I owe you something for something you've already sent me let me know so I can sort it out.
Really sorry. :-(
Jocie.

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Judy, I hate to do this to you, but please cancel my order for the lettuce. will try and pick it up locally at a nursery.
Still waiting on the cat tails to show some green.
Snow flurries here today. Only made it to 35.
COLD!!!

Maxine
