They're starting to bloom

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

This is Tropical Sunset. I've got buds on lots of brugs, can't wait till they really get going.

Wow - you wanna take a measurement across her? That's either huge or your have tiny little hands.

How's she smell?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It was a large flower, my hands are average size. It was midmorning when I took the picture, didn't notice a smell and didn't think about sniffing the flower. I'll have to pay more attention to that one and see if it's fragrant.

So pretty, so big, I love it!!

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

wow what a pretty lady she is.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I never think to sniff the flower either Susie. I am a very visual person! I like the brugs that the scent comes out and knocks your socks off!

Funny you posted this pic today. Yesterday, Tracey and I were talking about just this one. She said she preferred Jean Pasco and I said I preferred Tropical Sunset. I wish now I had kept my Jean Pasco so I could see them flower side by side. I can't remember what the differences are.

We also were talking keeping suaves or not. I just can't part with all of mine. Here is one I loved last year. I think it is called First something. For some reason I think it may be CC's. I just loved it. A huge pink plate. Anyone remember the name?

It was my seed
Susie grew it out and named it
I think its First day

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

First Day, CC's first seedling that flowered I think. It has HUGE flowers.
I'm keeping First Day and Tropical Sunset and I still have Insignis Gold, I tried to kill it but it came back so I guess it can stay. I also have a TS seedling, looks like it's parent and is a tough plant. I set the pot on the ground last year and it's rooted to the soil now and even when I forget to water it and it wilts, it still flowers.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Sounds like a winner for brug killers. LOL

Well CC, I want to say I LOVE IT!!!! These big flat ones always makes me think of a happy face. And in this case, one that has been drinking. LOL Let me go mark my pictures. CC'S First Day!!

And she has a rim too like Tropical Sunset. How could you not love it?

Oh Im living through all your pictures! The pictures are great!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

My son Max thinks that the brugs smell like sausage...I'm not sure if anyone else picks up on that one LOL
I like those brug blooms that have the rim. These are beautiful!
I think that the suavs have a different sort of sassy personality, the way they open up. IMO **wink**

LOL Jackie. Italian or breakfast?

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Max is my sausage king, he's on the Atkins diet which is why he is so darn thin, unlike his carb-addicted mother.
Actually, I just asked the expert...brugs smell like mild Italian.

PS, pictured with one of the few carbs he will eat, his own birthday cake.

Thanks! Me too.

Max has great hair, and I love the cut, as well as his big ole smile!!!

Thanks! I like his 70's style shag myself.
I wish I had his hair and his smile :)

Tropical Sunset is beautiful, Suzie. I cannot wait for mine to start doing something. They are just now beginning to come back from winter.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I like this one too, especially the way it blooms for other people. It just won't bloom like this for me. Susie sent me my first and only one. It had the size, the fast growth, everything it was supposed to but the color. Maybe it likes to be planted in the ground. I never tried that. I'll try again some time and maybe will have better luck.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Very pretty Susie. I like TS and also JP and JP being my favorite. I no longer have either one because they did not bloom heavy for me. I like the shape and fattness of Jean Pasco.

Susie could have one of every brug and still not fill her yard.........lol

I have a few of the older varieties and probably always will because they do well for me and I still like to see different shapes in the garden.

Roz, I am so happy to see you here. I miss you and you have been gone for a long time. Your yard will be gorgeous as usual in no time at all.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

I have the JP and it's pretty enough, with the fullness in the blooms and the deep goldish yellow color but I have to say that here, in the heat of summer it's a mite magnet for me. Hope it's not so bad this year!

Beautiful pictures!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

beautiful you all. I have one but I am trashing it and haven't even seen it bloom yet. Took back up cuttings for winter and the cuttings showed signs of something bad so mother plant will be dug up ASAP and in the trash it goes.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Loved the beautiful brug pictures and would take Max anytime. DonnaS

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Thank you Donna!, Just might be willing to negotiate a trade LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Jackie. You are too funny.

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)
