Here's an idea... if you're into this.
A lot of you freecycle so why not offer some sase offers on your local freecycle forum?
A lot of these people are interested in plants, especially people who have limited space. A lot of these people seem to have children so it's a good activity for parents and kids and it gets them interested in good things... like gardening!
I offered 5 offers of easy flowers (mostly short ones for planters/boxes and/or veggies and every offer was accepted and I received 4 out of the 5 sases.
I'm not sure but I don't think we have a lot of financially needy in the nearby area(I REALLY hope I used the right term, please don't be offended if I didn't!) but in other areas, the veggies might just offer some good nutricious food to hungry people.
Just an idea for those of you interested!

This is an excellent idea!
Silly me but I must ask-what is a freecycle forum?

"The worldwide Freecycle™ Network is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It's a grassroots movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns.
One main rule: Everything posted must be free, legal, and appropriate for all ages."
Basically you join an online/email group where members in your area post offers for free items, usually to be picked up at their house. Can also post for things you want - but I think your first post must be an offer.
My local group is pretty small (based in a small city 45 minutes from me) but in the couple months I've been on it, people have offered & picked up clothes, lumber, furniture, appliances, console games, books.
Its a great concept.

Sounds like an excellent concept. I'm going to check it out right now. Thanks for sharing!
You have to be careful - I offered some plants and got rather nasty emails about why did I not pick them and what have ya. I will never offer plants again - there are too many greedy people in my area at least.
I was turned on to freecycle by the members here. I'm not unhappy I joined!
I've yet to get one of those nasty emails. It's hard to deal with people like that, I hope I'll have the patience to just turn the other cheek.
The people all seem pretty nice and there's way more offering than getting which is probably good. I've even began planning a plant exchange for an offset group.
75154...... unfortunately there's 'grumps' in every town. Perhaps it would be a good idea to make it clear up front that the offer is being made on a "first come, first served basis" . This way there's no "choice" to be made on your part and you remain blameless.
