1 Ounce will do?
~* Robin
Hi,
Well Im not sure,,, I am in the process of making Herbal eye pillows and need 1 cup of lavender flower and 2-3 cups of flax seed. Is this something I can buy like at a local feed store? I would love to trade with you if you want something from list or sase. Please let me know.
vicki
Hi Vicki,
Well, that would mean that you'll need about 1 & 1/2 to 2 pounds of it. Yes do try at your local feed store or grocery supply store. I bought a 1& 1/2 pound bag at an Amish store forty miles north of here. I was going for other supplies at the time too. I wanted to refill my neck pillow that leaked, and asked for 'Organic Flaxseed'.
Brought it home and did a germination test... I grew more from that batch as well.
The price was only $1.47 cents. It tastes good, grows fast, and you can use it for sleep pillows too.
If you go to to one of those "Health food" stores.. you're gonna get ripped off.
Caution... flax seed gets hot in the microwave! Oh! and a little bit weighs alot!

So cool ,, and thanks for the link,, I am wanting to make the dream pillows and eye pillows.. I went and got a massage last week and for 1/2 hr. I had a lavender smelling eye pillow on my face. It was soothing. I am going to try the feed store tomorrow and see if they carry what I need. I cant wait to make them.. I read that you should use silk or some type of lightweight material because you dont want the eye pillow to be puffy.

Would satin work? I think that'd be especially luxcurious! ... I have no idea how to spell that word and I refuse to look it up!
Yes CaptMicha; it would work just fine, just remember that Satin frays when cut.
So make sure you have some no-fray at hand and a light edge binder too.
Soft lightweight cotton is best; not too much flaxseed inside as it will make you feel like you have weights on your eyes. If you want more darkness; make sure you put some very lightweight batting inside.

You can type in eye pillow or dream pillow on any search engine and go to any site listed and look at the pitchers to get a good idea of how to make these cute little things.Thats what I did and I came up with alot of different ideas. Let us know how you make out when you make them,, maybe show us some pics.. Thats what I plan to do. I am going to use the invisable seem stuff to put mine together because I cannot sew LOL. You can get it at any store where they sell sewing stuff. I get mine at walmart.
