I always thought Agave attenuata looked tropical.

I think it looks like a beautiful flower.

The big one will probably spike this spring or summer. It will have this huge, 8 or 10-foot long drooping/arching spike that will last for months. Actually, it is all one plant with three major trunks. This particular agave is not sharp or spikey. It also doesn't die after it blooms--only the rosette that the spike comes from. It has dozens of babies in the middle.

I just put in a bunch of those, with some ghost euphorbia and white lantana at the base of a Bismarkia nobilis....the white of the lantana really makes the agave and Bismarkia stand out. I love it when those agave bloom ... here it is called Swan Neck Agave.
