A seedling that bloomed late, last year once but a very dark pink. This is too early in the season for a dark color, but the form to my eye is perfect. And the flower is thick walled. It is big. It is bold. And God, I hope it is hot pink!!

Today is its first day open. First bloom of the season. It is already touched with Red. If it gets dark, I will call it Ruthie.

Actually I am thinking of asking you to trial a couple, Carol. I have a HUGE yellow that is so cheerful looking due to its smiling face. I want to see how big she will get in your climate. Here she stands about 15 feet.
