hardy hibiscus/swamp mallow

Pickens, SC(Zone 7a)

I've had a white hardy hibiscus for years. Got it from Park Seed. I'm pretty sure it is southern belle. I would like to try some other hardies. Does anyone have any seed to share?

Also, is there a difference between the hardys like my white and the ones I hear called Swamp mallow that some folks grow in their ponds ? I cant picture my white in the pond.

thanks

Charlotte, I have texas star hibiscus (H. coccineus) http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/1872/index.html
and confederate rose hibiscus (H. mutabillis) http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/714/index.html seeds if you would like to try them. These are both root hardy here and the texas star will grow in water. Don't know about your white one in water.

edited to add that the confederate rose is the single bloom

Jean, thank you so much. Pinky is already sending me some of the Texas hibiscus and I do have 2 confederate rose cuttings that I received last year from my elderly aunt. Thanks for your kind offer.

Robin, I will P.M. you.

I am most interested in Hibiscus moscheutos because it is hardy. However, I'm a bit confused, is this one different than the texas one. The page in plant files shows lots of different pictures.
