I want to grow some Petunia's in hanging baskets.
The last frost date here is usually around the first or second week in June. (I hate it, but that's the way it is.) lol
If I start the petunia's from seed the first week of April, will I have nice hanging baskets by mid-June?
Petunia's in Hanging Baskets
takes about 12-14 weeks for good hanging basket from seed. double petunias take 16 weeks.
correction-
I think its 12 weeks for flats
14 weeks for basket
16 weeks for double blooming baskets
sometimes longer depending on how warm greenhouse is
Thanks Cricket. I needed to know. I guess the idea of having Petunia's is out. Darn it.
well---you could always have them late-------think about forth of july ---red white and blue baskets
I've decided to do Mum's around the fall. August - September. That's when most of my garden will mature. Makes me dizzy thinkin about it all. lol
Next year I will be more prepared, hopefully.
you need a journal of some sort.
when i first started out--i ordered a " seed schedule" from Parks Wholesale. I think it was $4.50
it tells the most popular seed germination time and growing time to sale packs or baskets or larger pots. tells if you need to germinate in dark or light and at what temp.
