Wilma, What did you buy? Pics please! I just love the T&Tcatalogue, what is the real store like? As fabulous as I imagine? Joelle

Winnipeg,, MB(Zone 3a)

Joelle can't really send any pictures at this time as my son has my camera, but the store is kinda neat it is a catalogue store,, it is not really that big, but come spring time they will have greenhouses open, and then you can buy all the lilies you want and just about anything else they have in their catalogue.
I ordered sunrise, sunset echinacea, and my friend ordered some hosta's as she is really into hosta's she has so many..
but on the whole was just a great day.. wanted to get to the consevatory but we ran out of time, but we plan to hit that next time as they have plant sales there once a week..
Shelmerdine is a great big nursery, which is open all year round, and they have everything too,, great place to visit..
If you are ever in Wpg, that's one of the places you must go to.

T and T doesn't excite me too much. They have tried to fancy up the store some and hired a woman to manage it. It's best to shop in person there for plants. They do alright on mail order shrubs and trees I think. I have had a few problems with their perennials not being what they were supposed to be. They just seem to have the sameole sameole every year. Good roses though.

Thanks ladies, I see where your camera is, I asked on the other thread. LOL!

Speaking of garden cerntres, the one at Mattick's Farm in Victoria has everything 30% off. until Sunday. Maybe Linda and Glenda would be interested ! I picked up some oriental lilies, daylily, small purple rhodo, brunnera, pansies and some basket fillers. My DH has a new rule in our house - I can't buy anything else until I plant the stuff that is already sitting in pots - I DON'T THINK SO !!
Heather

Doesn't he understand?
1. Some things just stay in the pots.
2. We have to stock up this time of year.
3. Need replacements ready and waiting for the ones that didn't make it or just don't look good.
4. They are on sale now.
I'm pretty good on excuses. Let me know if you need more.

The "It was a great deal " is the one I regularly use, (being Scottish., I love a bargain) I will add the rest to my repetoire !
He has a soft spot for carnations so I bought some to soften him up !! (Why do I feel so guilty).
Heather

I dunno, why? Not enough experience in justifying plant purchases? Just keep practicing. After awhile they give up and you don't have to do it anymore.

Heather, thanks for the heads up about Matticks, will go there tomorrow, hopefully there will be something of interest still left. And about your husband,,,, I imagine he's a push over, just has to make like he's trying to be the boss!
