Our Superstore just got in pink and blue hydrangea. Maybe yours did too! ( if your interested)
Pam- Keon has received their tropicals, I bought 2 Alocasias. Joelle
Superstore
Our Safeway got those in too. $25.00. Is that what Superstore is charging too?
I was just wondering about that!! :D Ü :D What a lovely surprise (and timing) to see!
How much are they asking for the hydrangea Joelle?
$15, same for alocasia- they close at 5.
LOLOL that was what DH and I were just discussing........we seem to be on the same wavelength today! Thank you!! Ü
Wow Donna $25 SAFEWAY charges to much for everything! Eh?
Really!! But they are lovely, all in bloom and everything. I particularly like the blue ones. Huge blooms. I just can't help wondering though, how they would be for transfering outside when it's warmer. I suppose they would be ok after hardening off and everything. But Hydrangeas don't normally bloom outside until July & August. These were obviously forced, but I wonder if they'd bloom outside again this summer?
The ones coming into the Greenhouse right now (we get our stuff from Kelowna) were all grown outside and the sprouts are just beginning to pop up on a few of them. Mine still don't have anything showing yet, but it is a bit early.
Your so lucky being able to grow them in the ground. For me they will be container plants year round, that makes it easier to control the PH for coloring. I am really interested in taking cuttings of them. Here is a link on caring for them.Take care, Joelle

Thanks for the link, Joelle. Great article. I have PeeGees like the ones they have featured there, but I have a hold on an Annabelle at the Greenhouse now. They have gigantuous blooms. Can't wait to plant it...just don't know where yet...!!!
I have 3 hydrangeas, 2 pink ones and a blue one, have had them for years and they do flower for me every year, right now the blue has buds,,
come summer time I put them outside and they do just great..
seen those ones at Safeway yesterday..
Don't forget to show pics! I will post mine tonight after I water the GH.
Can't show pictures till I get my camera back, but will do so as soon as I get it back home..
wow can't wait to see your plants..
Ooooo did your camera break? Or did you lend it out? Can't wait to see them, do you have any growing tips? Thanks, Joelle
Joelle
No my son has borrowed it,,
and not really any hints I just bring them in the house in the fall and keep them in my cool basement in the winter.. and they do flower for me in the summer time..
I noticed in a flyer that our Save-On Foods store has Hydrangeas for $12.99, but they are only in 6 inch pots. The ones at Safeway for $25.00 were in gallon containers. So I guess the price depends on the size you want.
Most pics were too dark taken inside but oooooooh how I am looking forward to seeing the greenhouses loaded again. Joelle I loved the ghostly grey Alocasia that they brought in. Ü The one with crinkled leaves was also very unique.
I also drooled at Superstore's hydrangeas they were exceptionally large and very colorful.

p.s. the ☼ is back in ☼ Saskatchewan today! Ü
Gee whiz, you're making it look like it's still winter and we know that isn't true. *Ü* ;~D
hahahahahaha :b ;)
It's snowing here....it's very wet and not sticking but still....I can't get away with anything.
You are kidding......aren't you???
:D Just don't freeze!!
I went checking some of the stores here for the hydrangeas. Walmart, Superstore and Zellers all have left them to dry out. They all look awful. It's a shame to see them bring all these plants in and than don't take care of them.
:( Donna
check the greenhouses
had lots yesterday and they are all very lovely.
St.Vital Walmart, plants, were in great shape
when I saw them last night..
Lilypon, Are you telling us you went home empty handed? WOW what control you have! Must be saving all the moola for the coast.
You betcha........I was sorely tempted and carried them around for half an hour but the brain kicked in eventually. ;) The ghostly shaded one was very difficult to put back.
Well good thing you did, the one I bought has two pups! One for you and one for my Mom!
Ü Thank you Joelle! Ü
