afriend of mine got a brug from a lady in Al and it lookes like this upon arrival. she sent me an email hoping i would know what to do but i have no clue as all the one i have ever bought have looked great upon arrival.
any advice welcome.
any advive on what to do
mine looked worse than that, I took off most of the leaves and potted it up, now just wait and see how it comes out
Lay it is a sink of cool-lukewarm water. In a few hours it should perk right up.
I've received brugs like that too, They wilt really easily in shipment, it's hard for them not to, they almost always come out of it though, i'd just pot it up water it and wait, sometimes if their really bad off, I cut off the wilted leaves, and sometimes I have to cut the tip off cause it never does revive, I've not lost one though that looked like this.

I remember taking pieces that had been broken off and had laid on the ground for a while before I found them. They were almost beyond return. I take a plastic bag and wet the inside but drain it well. I wet the foliage but gently shake it so it is not dripping wet. I then place a glass of luke warm water in the bag, stick the cuttings in, then close the bag tight. It is an instant high humidity chamber. If badly wilted, I may leave it in for a few days. How is it looking Marie? All revived?
it looks worse then it did before. she keeps sending me pics and i told her to contact the person and the person said give it a few days but i looks worse by the minute.
She is about to cry and me for her. i told her to let sit in warm water and nothing seems to help. maybe she will have to de leave it and put it in a baggy like you suggest Kell.
i told her if not perky by monday then send back and request money back.
Oh I forgot to say she should cut off all the big leaves. They are too big. Just clip them off and leave the newest center ones. That way the cutting won't have so much work.
That's what I'd do also is to cut off the big leaves.
ohhhhhhhhhhh I also forgot to say recut the bottom so it is not sealed off. Is this a cutting or rooted? If rooted forget that. Just water pot well so it is heavy to pick up. Then do not water again till dry. The roots will drown if you keep watering the dirt. Make sure it is in a cool shady place, no direct sun until it has revived.
Mine are no better, but no worse either, since they were rooted I cut off all the leaves and the real soft part on top and potted them, now just wait paitently, I think they got cold somewhere on the way because we have had nice weather the past two weeks, now supposed to get cold a couple of days.
okay told Ann to cut all leaves off and wait. this one was rooted.
i want a bruggy but its still too cold here and hate to think if i buy one off ebay it will be in the cold at the post offices.
okay how can you drown roots???? i thought if you wintered cutting they stay in water till spring dont those grow roots and stay in water???
i am waiting till it warms agian and try agian at brugs. right now i am growing my baby Daturas and waiting paitently for my Brug seeds to come up. its been a week so far.
you all will here me yell in excitement when one does show it head out the dirt. hehe
LOL Marie, it usually takes anywhere between 8-10 days for them to show some green coming up from the dirt....for me anyhow. I put them under a light and some heat underneath. Datura's seem to take longer for me. But in the summer, shoot you can't stop the things with the heat from coming up!
