Icehouse was given a Cat Tree

Decatur, IN(Zone 5a)

I belong to a few freecycle groups near me and I had previously posted the need of a cat tree for Icehouse but never received a reply. Everytime I've replied to any post, 99% of the time I'm either late or the item is given to someone else. Its been a bit disappointing but then yesterday I saw a post for an offer of a cat tree (floor to ceiling kind). I replied & to my amazement, I was told I could pick it up. The lady said she has three cats but moved into a mobile home w/ slanted ceilings so she can't use it and since moving into the three acre property, she lets the cats outdoors & play in the woods. Anyway, Icehouse really lucked out cause I had been wanting to get him one but the funds are low right now.

My question is, how should I go about sanitizing it? I was thinking of vacuuming it well & giving it a good spray w/ alcohol & letting it air dry. Does this sound like it should take care of any possible bacteria hidding in there? or do you think I should take my carpet cleaner to it? It doesn't look dirty, just has some cat hair on it. Thanks in advance,

Gemila
