What is TMV??? A virus??? It looks like mottling. All I know is some brugs catch viruses. They can catch them from tomatoes, daturas or other plants grown near. Most are not lethal but they can show mottling esp at times when the plant is stressed. I know lots of people live with it. I remember Kyle reassuring me way back when, when one day a new brug suddenly showed intense mottling followed by complete defoliation. I was hysterical.

Sangs seem to mottle easily especially in summer. I hated the looks of them when they did this. Out they had to go.

I personally toss any plant that mottles. Well, I have a very special one that is mottled and has been since I got it and I do not have the heart yet to toss it. But I do keep it separate from my others.

It also could be a nutritional deficiency, Shelly. Has it been eating all its spinach lately? I know there are web pages showing the different leaf symptoms of deficiencies. I bet Ma Vie or Scoot would know where they are.

And if all this is not true, lets wait for Monika! LOL

TMV-tobacco mosaic virus, will eventually kill the plant and is spread by insects, mostly thrips. Your ag agent should be able to tell you if it's that.
There is also cucumber mosaic, won't kill the plant, is prevalent in weeds and lots of landscaping plants, makes plant ugly and is spread by thrips.

Oh my! I will have to look and see if it is any of those viruses.. but I have had the thing couped up all winter, and am hoping its just gasping for some air! But I will check all the sites I can find, and pull this one aside, and put it infront of our sliding glass door that is open alot. Its growing wonderful.. putting on more leaves and growth than the other cuttings I have. Thanks for you help ladies!

Shelly, it could also be nutrient deficiency or just because it's been semi dormant all winter and is just waking up. Try a foliar feed of miracle grow.

Will do! Thanks Susie!

Shelly I had some mottled leaves when my Brugs were lacking light and fertilizer in the house this winter.
Since putting them out in the GH and watering and fertilizing on a regular basis all the new leaves are growing healthy and green.
I bet once they are planted outside they will look much better.
