San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

A surprise bloom. I can never decide if I should put this poor brug out of its misery or not.

That is one weard looking brug Kell. Poor thing. LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Ted, that is one of the best smelling brugs I've ever run into. Messy blooms, but I'm thinking about getting it again. Just for the fragrance. LOL!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gee Shirley, I sure have missed the fragrance. I wll have to check it out tonight! Though it is right next to Arborea, and that scent is not only hard to overpower but hard to beat..

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

kell if you can't decide give the misery to me LOL

Doris

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

I'm glad you posted this. I was thinking about adding it back to my yard this summer. I'm still up in the air as I don't think I have any more room to plant ANYTHING.....

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I would put this one right next to Arborea for smell. Kristi, the only thing I have against the Shredded White is that it is messy. Did you find it messy when you had it before? My spent blooms seemed to fall a petal at a time instead of the whole bloom falling.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Well, Kell, you've shown us alot better!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Maybe it makes me weird, but I kinda like that messy shredded look. If it smells wonderful too, hmmmm, it might be worth a try.
Reminds me of vanilla custard ice cream cones (upside down,) my favorite!

I will help you decide.........put it out of its misery like I did mine several years ago. Its a deformed brug which I did not care for at all except for the fragrance.

Rethink Shirley.........you really do not want this one again........lol
You have so many that are above this one and so many seedlings with great potential. If you were not happy with it before, you will not be happy with it now.

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

Sorry for the dumb ?, but...........it that one bloom on the plant or are they all that way?

Nancy Lee

PS. I think it's sort of neat.

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

If Shredded White has a great fragrance, would it be a good candidate for a cross and if so, would it be the Female or Male?

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

I am looking forward to mine blooming. I have never seen a flower I would really call ugly, except maybe that bat flower. Jeanette

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi Nancy, the whole plant blooms like this. Funny, when I first saw this one some years ago, I just had to have it or bust. I was so desperate!!

I think I agree with you Ted. And the reproductive parts are always deformed if even there.

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

i think its unique. an attention getter.

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

Kell there isn't anything ugly about your Shredded white, but if you really feel like you have to put it out of it's misery I will send you sase. Just let me know how much.

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Kell, we know you are just messing us!!!! lol lol lol

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3a)

Have any of you had a successful pod on this plant? Thanks Joelle

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Joelle. so far I've never had a pod on mine. I think I left mine out to freeze this winter. It smells good but I couldn't love the blooms on it. LOL

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3a)

LOL! I understand... can't keep what you can't love!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

You're right, Joelle. LOL

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Joelle I had two pods on mine a couple of years ago.
Unfortunately it got too hot in the GH one day and they were laying on the floor when I went out.
It will pod.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3a)

Thanks Terry, I think it is a nice bloom, it would be neat to see it in many colours. Joelle

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well, the scent is delightful. I am going to move it away from Arborea and see if it carries well. If it does I may keep him!! Here is a bottom view.

Good Morning Kell,

I still think it's beautiful. If everything that was ugly, plain, different or just a little "off" were thrown out, this would be a very dull world.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I like it! Remember, bubble skirts are coming back. But then I've never been a conformist and the unusual always appeals.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I love it just because of it's uniqueness

Dayton, TX(Zone 9a)

Maybe I'm too new to this but----how could you say that it is ugly? And it smells too? You guys have been at this too long . I will take her and love her. Ruth

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3a)

Thats a nice photo! I guess everyone has their "good" side for pics! lol

Goshen, OH(Zone 6a)

Kell , it is not ugly, strange maybe, remember that one man's trash is someone elses gold. I always root for the underdog and that's quite the underdog LOL. But I think its pretty and you say it smells good also well I could stick my nose in it and smell for awhile lol.
