Texas Bluebonnet picture

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

This is in an old section of a little town called Santa Rosa. This little old man was weedeating around the wild verbena and bluebonnets that are growing beside this shed. I think his house is on the other side of the shed. The yellow flowers in the left center are aloe flowers.

Great photo. Thanks for sharing. My bluebonnets are just starting to bloom.

The only wildflowers blooming around here are dandelions. :-(

Would you believe there are no dandelions down here?

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Why is that?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I don't know, haven't seen any in the area. Maybe they haven't made it down this far, lol.
We have plenty of other weeds to take their place though! We have pink primrose(oenothera), sorrel/oxalis(several kinds) and burr clover that are big pests in the yard and garden, plus Bermuda grass everywhere.

LOL........I will be sure to bring you some the next time I visit. No one should be without dandelions.

Hey, you bring me dandelions and I'll send you Huisache trees!!!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

LOL.........I don't know what Huisache trees are but I bet it is really something that I don't want!!! Ok I will not bring you dandelions.

Also wanted to tell you that the variety of seeds that I got from your are starting to sprout......yipee.........thank you Susie

YOu're welcome Frannie.
The Huisache trees are the ones with the big nasty thorns that were growing by the resaca. They smell good when they flower but they make millions of seeds and I think every seed comes up and even the baby trees have thorns and a tap root to China.

Oh, now I remember exactly what tree you are talking about.........no, don't want any of them.
