Since it is only 39 degrees at 11am I am sure we will have a bad frost tonight. I have covered everything I possible can that is coming up in the yard and garden. Wonder if anything will survive? Not much is up in garden but lettuce, peas and radishes, I have tomatoes in frost cages. Guess I will find out. Txsdar
Hill Country Freeze Tonight
It's 33 and holding at about 5 AM here right on the edge of the Hill Country. I was too tired to cover my plants that are in the ground after moving almost everything back into the greenhouse that I had just moved out to get some sun. I am hoping it won't hit 32 before daybreak. Good luck txsdar and my Hill Country friends.
5:45 Am ... It has been 32 for 30 minutes now ... oh no! :o(

Oh no! Hope your gardens don't get too much damage. Can you spray them off with water as soon as it's daylight?
It's 49 here right now.
It was 29 at 6:10 am. I covered everything I possibly could. I am more worried about my tomatoe plants. I have them in frost cages but only time will tell. I covered my grape vine very well, I had blossoms coming out on the north side of the arbor. Also Glads coming up. Will let you know how everything is in a few days. Thanks for your concerns. Txsdar
Thanks, Calalilly. It didn't drop below 32 and held there for an hour and a half. Usually it takes longer at that temperatuire to do a lot of harm. There was frost. I'll have to wait to see if anything was hurt.
txsdar, it was a lot colder there. I hope all your efforts paid off and everything is okay.
Well I lost my tomatoe plants, and my basil. But I will just replant. Lost a few impatients that were coming up from seed and a few Callas. But sure they will come back.
It was 29 here at 3am. No early tomatoes now. Will buy some Big Boys I guess. Txsdar
I am sorry you lost some of your plants. I know how that feels. Mine look like they are okay, but I probably won't know for sure until tomorrrow.
