Well, I'm not close, but could somebody try to find out what Ken is up to and if a new show is pending, please?
Yes, I would like to know if he is doing the TV show again this year as well...I don't know who Donna Dawson is, but Ken is great!

I have been a member of ICanGarden Online Website for a long time. Donna Dawson is a super nice person and a very knowledgeable Master Gardener. She reins from St. Albert, Alberta. Her website usually has a wealth of information for Gardeners. Wish I could go and hear her talk.
I will definitlely post the highlights as well as the photos as I'm the official photographer for the event. I have to tell you though, I know from experience, Ken is a hard one to photograph! The man just does not standstill for 2 seconds!! What a live wire he is!
Looking forward to your photos, Brenda. :Donna
Congratulations, Winnipeg! Both Brian Minter and Ken Beattie seem to have this conduit to unbridled energy. I was hoping gardening was the regeneration source. Hasn't quite generated this energy in me. I took a tour of Donna's to Ireland with Des Kennedy about 3 years ago. Fun, fun! no Donna, though. I belong to I Can Garden also, but hardlly ever access it. Thanks for the reminder. Might make it to Minter's seminar.
Must have been a great trip Sunrise. Those irish gardens aare really TDF aren't they. Plus Des ....... I always visit Donna & Tom when ever I'm near Edmonton.
Every year there is an island garden tour -don't mean Vancouver island - some of the others. One year Des' house and garden were on the tour. What a wonderful day that was. Can't even remeber which year - glorious gardens though.

Des and Sandy Kennedy's garden is on the annual Denman Island Garden Tour every year. It is a fundraiser for the conservancy which Des is very involved in. It's a great tour. I've had a house on Denman Island for 25 years, I lived there permanently before I married dh and moved to Campbell River. It's one hour south of here. Pretty island, not too commercial like a lot of the gulf islands.
Denman is a lovely Island, to be sure. I have had the privilege of staying at a friend's place and taking in Des and Sandy's garden the year after the Irish Tour , lovely indeed. Two years ago, I think. Many very interesting gardens as well as Kennedy's. Anybody who gets the chance should go.
I had great fun and learnt tons, helping build straw bale & cob houses on some of the islands, also at Narnia Camp andthe Eco-village in the island. Joys of the islands.
But am still happy here in the snow. No weevils, etc etc and the rest of the bugs that reside on the island plus of course the !@#$ bindweed.

Your expletive re the bindweed is a most appropriate visual, inanada!
