Okay, Now Ya Got Me

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

I posted back in 2003 and early 2004 with some photos of someone else's Brugs.

Well in May, Nathalyn gave me two at the Tenn RU. Pink Frosty and Charles Grimaldi. Last month I received some from GaGalinFla. One in particular I'm looking forward to seeing bloom is Sunray.

Anyhow, this winter I have been smelling the most lovely fragrance when I let my dogs out at night. I certainly didn't think that lovely smell was coming from my garden.

Today I was out taking some clippings from my coleus to get rooted for the Florala roundup and I was overcome by the scent. Stupid me, I thought, where is that coming from, coleus do not smell. It was my Charles Grimaldi!!!!

I am so pleased with the ease of my success with these plants. So little work for such beautiful flowers.

Kell, didn't I see an offer from you back in my first postings about unusual Brugs? from members here? for trade?

Thank you all. This photo I just got lucky. When I try really really hard, I get really really blurred.

Molly, sounds like you and I take pictures alike. LOL Someday, maybe we'll get good at it.

Ahelms,

I'm on my 2nd digital camera now, upgrade from the first. But you know the quality of the picture certainly can't be my fault, it's the equipment (:^))))) ) Yeah, right.

LOL I'm on my third and still can't take good pictures. I don't have time to sit down and read the book.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

I don't use it often...but a tripod does help with the movement! I feel really constricted when I use one though.
I always take more than one photo just incase there is a problem with you. You'd be surprised the difference between photos that you think will be the same.
Good luck to you both!

Margie, I don't have or don't take the time to go get a tripod. LOL I have too many irons in the fire.

Great picture Melba. Gave me a chance to rest my head on my shoulder for a while. LOL!

Melba,

That kalanchoe is really taking off!!!!. I found you might want to stake it, they will start to tip over. I see this one was so heavy it turned the picture on its side (lol)

My GF was in the hospital for back surgery (3 times in 3 weeks due to infection). I had promised to do a cutting for her of my Pink Frosty, but then thought, mine isn't mature enough to do that with. Anyway, the largest Charles Grimaldi that you gave me, I took up to her place in Lake Worth and planted it where she had lost a tree in one of the storms. It was starting to bloom when I took it up there. She is very pleased with it.

You were so generous with your plants.....I also am sharing one with my SIL who couldn't make it to the roundup. I gave one to Cyberageous too. I love the Charles Grimaldi's but I'm keeping the Sunray all for myself. She is going to provide some part shade to my Lady Banks I recently received as a gift.

What other Brugs do you have? Are you going to the Florala roundup?

Molly, i won't make the Fl/Ala roundup. My DH has multi health problems right now.He is undergoing tests weekly to prepare for an angioplasty. He has total of 8 blockages , 2 in the abdomen, 2 in the groin,4 in his legs!Dr says he will not do surgery till he quits smoking, & he smokes 3 packs a day! I am trying to quit also, to help him quit! This is "nervous-wreck" City here!

I have several different brugs. Rosamound, Butterfly,University of Conn,Golifto,Insigna Pink, Ecurdor Pink,Kyle's Giant White, Versicolor Peach, Herrenhauser Garten(? spelling),Snowbank,Isabella & some unnamed.I have babied the Snowbank, but I can't get it to grow like the rest.

Hope you all going to the Fl/Ala roundup have LOTS of fun! Melba
