Here is one of the very small skippers, the Yellow-banded Dart, Ocybadistes walkeri visiting our Buddleia last weekend
Yellow-banded Dart
The one on the left is a moth, and that is as close as I can get. The one on the right is a butterfly, and is certainly one of the skippers Hesperiidae. The nearest I can get to it is that it might be the Whirlabout Polites vibex http://www.nearctica.com/butter/plate29/Pvibex.htm
Whatever species it is, it is a male, because of the black streak on the forewing
Thanks! Whirlabout is a cute name. :) I thought that was cute when I took the pic, a moth and a butterfly. I have several different kinds of skippers. One or all are really LOUD! They make a noise like a bee when they fly by.
