a double hibiscus. interestingly, this time i decided i wasn't all that fond of the variegated hibiscus. the flowers seem rather small and i like the doubles better. most of them are only just starting to regrow after ivan. being flooded with salt water has hurt the soil balance a great deal.

a very tenacious vine that has just started back as well. normally you don't see the woody part of this vine - i think the structure is quite interesting

Now isn't this rewarding, jagonjune! Rebirth and hope. How lovely. The Hibiscus is very similar to the one I have had for over 30 years as a standard. Tough plant. The vine looks like a Deiffenbachia relative to me, but the trop peeps would know a lot better.

Very pretty bougainvilleas and hibiscus.Ü Nice to see that the plants are coming back and hopefully the fall rains (without another hurricane) will help clean the salt out.

Is that adorable little one a relative of yours Lynn?

It is hard to imagine but the beauty that has tenaciously hung on and florished after such distruction and devastation is wonderful to behold. Gorgeous photos, Lynn. The other pictures of the places you had previously been must have been hard to bear after seeing them in their orignial state. Thanks for sharing.
