I am here, holding my head in shame. I went to the garage to get my pond ears and realized I had put them in bags but never got the peat in with them. The nice big bale of peat is unopened at the garage door. In the famous words of Kirstie Alley "I'm too stupid to live!". LOL Am I the only one that remembers that from Cheers? :) So anyways, all my pond ears are stinky mush! The potted ones are fine but all the ones I had in the pond are gone, gone gone. I have no idea what I have to trade because Ohio does not realize it is spring. I do have about 3000 seeds started and more to go. I can send postage or send you something of your choice when all my plants and bulbs come back. Can anybody help me?
I'm an ear killer! Need b. magic, Illustris, C. font., rhuba
badseed, I might can help you in the spring with the Illustris if mine made it okay in the ground this winter.
I have an illustris and several others if you want them Chele, let me know and Ill send you what I got.
I would be thrilled if either or both of you can help me out. :) My pond will be so nakey if I don't have my ears. I could just kick myself!
Shame on you, I just seem to kill mine the old fashioned way ;)
What are pond ears?
LOL Charlotte!
Sandy, they are the elephant ears that like to be grown in water. I usually grow them as a veggie filter in a big trough beside my pond. I stored them improperly and they resented it. Now I have to start over. :(
Chele its still getting below freezing here still, daytime is around 40-45 but dont want them dying on the way up. When do you think would be safest to send them, since your in Ohio whats safe for me is probrably alot different for you.
Badseed, Thanks, I didn't know. Sorry--I don't have any of them. I hope you find what you lost.
Janet, I think the high here for the next week is only supposed to be the 40s. Let me check the weather and let you know. I can put them out in the greenhouse once they get here but we sure don't want them to croak enroute. :) Thanks!!
They can also be potted. Some just like moist conditions more than others. I love huge leaved plants! They look awesome in my pond.
I also posted in tropicals that I need sun coleus and sweet potato vines. I figure I will cross post both of these. I'd be happy to do a big trade with a couple of people. :)
Dang you killed just about everything, LOL. Dont have those for you sorry. Ive got all my ee's in pots in the house so shouldnt be too difficult to get you these. Im also still looking for the black marble for you, I know someone that had it last year but didnt get back in time before they put it away for the winter
LOL I didn't get the sun coleus and sweet potato vines. I sent them to Florida, Texas, California, etc. They were too pretty to let old man winter take them. :) I wish I would have sent my ears there too.
You are great Janet!
