Here are some pictures of my newly transplanted brugs, They seem to be doing quite well in their new homes, I just love the variegated ones.
the variegated one is snowbank I think their screaming for spring time.
Some of my Brugs
Kathy they look great and healthy. This is my first year wintering brugs in the basement and mine look sad.
:) Donna
Here are a bunch that I haven't transplanted yet. their patiently waiting in line,
I was thinking of keeping them all in the greenhouse this summer, not taking them out . Wondering how they would do. I have 3 huge windows down each side, and huge doors on each end, and a big fan that circulates air through out, it does get hot in there, it was 87 in there today, cause it was 80 outside. Yep, I can't believe it got 80 outside today, but it did, I didn't have the fan going int he greenhouse either, cause it was so windy, it's very shady in the gh, with both layers of plastic, they don't get direct sunlight, which I think will help them alot since direct sunlight usually kills my brugs, it's so hot here and humid. think It will work . (keeping them in the GH this summer). I could take a few out and put them by the back porch . Like I did last year.
That's right, Kathy-ann you bought all those Iochromas. They look very healthy.
:) Donna
not sure what this means.
That's right, Kathy-ann you bought all those Iochromas.
but yes I did buy them all. got a good deal on the 7th one.
I know....remember you told us the story and I had thought you had a great deal.
:) Donna
oh good grief, I didn't remember, LOL You got a diff name over here ha? so hard to keep up with everybody. LOL
Nope...same name.
:) Donna
They all look great. You are going to be drowning in brugs when they grow full size. I think Peaches and Cream is hopeless. Try to get a piece of Maya. She grows and blooms freely. She will make you smile!
Donna, I'm just a hopeless case I guess. LOL, Where is winnipeg MB at. Since I'm playing dumb here LOL
Kell, I have a pic of maya up above, she's growing nicely too. Why is it peaches and cream is such a slow grower.
I thought I was doing something wrong.
I'm same...Kathy_ann....forgetful. Winnipeg, Manitoba is on the over side of the fence from North Dakota. Beautiful place in the Spring, Summer and Fall.
:) Donna
oh, that does sound like a nice place.
It is except for when its Winter....than it's brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
:) Donna
Great looking plants, Kathy Ann.
All your Brugs look nice and healthy! Just waiting in line to bloom!
What type of cuttings or seedlings or you growing in the second picture? More Brugs?
Beautiful brugs, so healthy, all your plants look like they love where they live!!!
Thanks for all the compliments, Shirley, that's silver mint growing in 4 in pots behind that one brug, I've never planted seeds of brugs, just cuttings . You should have seen the greenhouse a couple months ago, it looked terrible in there, dead, no green life at all, and everything is perking up so nicely now, I'm thrilled. But with 80 degree weather, what else can they do. LOL Now if I can keep those aphids gone.
kathy
Kathy.. they all look great...
So what's up with peaches & cream... mine is doing just fine.. can't tell it from any of the others... except for the varaigation and the flowers turn color.. both interesting aspects of her prsonality... maybe a wee bit more demure in stature..
Your snowbank looks grand... so the bottom most leaf has a slight browning on it's edge... is that the problem they refer to in it's growth habit... and is it a bother to you.... I love mine and I can tolerate alot from something so lovely
Gordon
Kathy-ann, they really look super. You said your Maya was only a couple of months old. How big a cutting was she when you got her. I really like those. Where did you find that many Lochromas all in one place?
When all of these Brugs and the rest start blooming maybe you can bottle the smell. Good luck with them, they look great.

Any plant that looks like P& C after having it 2 years, toss it!! It is not healthy or it is not worth keeping. I have learned from others experience on here, that P& C just does not do well. I bought my Maya as P& C and I was convinced by Davers it was really Maya.
I don't know what's up with the p c brug, I did transplant it a couple months ago, same size pot but diff dirt, thought that would help, I'm gonna give it this season before I do away with it, I love the leaves on it.
Snow bank, does loose it's bottom leaves quite often, never seems to bother it though, they shrivle up kind of turn brown, I pick them off. probably 3 to 8 leaves a month. I still love it, and can't wait for a bloom, though it's not y 'd off yet. It is will worth it just to have this beautiful plant, can't wait for blooms on it.
I've been chopping on all the bigger brugs this winter, to make them more bushy on top, thus not having any blooms in the greenhouse, but since we had that 32 night twice I wouldn't have gotten bloms anyway
I honestly don't remember how big maya was when I got it, but she's already got branches on her LOL.
Kathy-ann, I bought Iochroma's also from the same place.. I paid almost three times what you did and mine look like !!! Bad enough that I paid $7.50 two arrived dead.. the others didn't look to bad but were 1/2 the size of your's. I'm just trying to keep them alive so they have a chance to grow..I really love these flowers but it is so hard to get a good size when you purchase.I called Mike the owner of the place for replacement,, but at the present they are out of stock. ghezzzzzzzzzzz
Sorry to hear of your hard time with that place. I don't have anything but nice things to say about him though. His packing was fantastic and sent healthy plants too
kartuz greenhouse is where I got them at. he's out of alot of them now. I also sent you a personal email cinnabor
Cinnabor, I bought the 3 for l5.00 they make the choices on what to send. Did you purchase like that. that might be why you paid more than me, they were more expensive individually. I didn't care what he sent as long as they were healthy
Kathy_ann.... Your plants & cuttings look so nice and healthy. And it sounds like your Iochromas are gearing up for an early spring show. Can't wait to see your pics of them. I recently trimmed some of mine because they got so leggy over the winter. Hopefully, the cuttings will root in this aquarium set-up I'm trying even though this is not the best time of year for this. But a good trimming must have been what the mother plants needed because new buds are forming on all the iochromas that were cut. The ones that weren't don't show anything new.
That looks neat, you must have had nice sized iochromas, to have such nice cuttings of them, I hear from others that have these plants, the more you cut them the more they bloom , that where you cut, new growth puts out a bloom.
