Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

The first one is a hybrid by a friend of mine here...he calls it Peau de Soie... Sorry the flowers are a bit rain beated....but I couldn't resist showing this off. The plant is only 3' high.

Here is my favorite bend in the road, so far. There is a huge Brunfelsia on the left, out of site, the brug is in the shade but she blooms all the time...and the red of the Heliconia Caribea in back and the Brazilian Red Cloak really make her shine....

Gosh Carol, it is too bad that your plants don't look a little more lush. LOL! Awesome foliage you have there.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Thanks, Shirley..and the chocolate side is that the weeds grow with the same lushness and tenacity!!

LOL

Carol, the Brazilian Cloak & Heliconia are awesome next to her...hey, Shirley, are you up for a little trip to Hawaii??? Carol, do you mind a couple of houseguests?? We wont eat much, I promise.

Jackie, I'd love to go some time, but who is going to watch our plants while we are gone?

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

LOL
Oh, They'd be all dead here...you're right. I can't even get dh to feed the kids or animals when I'm not around, let alone tend to the green.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

PS, Carol
I'll bet even your "weeds" are gorgeous!

Jim would probably encourage me to go just so he could let most of my stuff croak. I know he hates living with so many plants in the house, but I can't do without my plants. My VooDoo is about to open and he is worried that it will happen while it is still in the shop. I guess I should go check it out to make sure he doesn't go out there in the morning to a smell of dead meat. LOL!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Oh, A voodoo is what I just might need to add to my arsenal here. LOL
Boy, I'd love to see Jim's face if it happens that way.
You are too funny.

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Ok my plant enabler, is this picture to encourage or enable me? It's a awesome flowa!!

Blessings,
Awanda

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

AH...Awanda! Gently nudging and enticing you over the precipice!!!

I had forgotten I had that cutting and I just stuck it in a corner. It had by potbound, mistreated, dried out, sunburned for 2 years in a pot on a sheet of corrugated metal...and when it went into the ground it grew to that..and bloomed...within 5 months I think I have the secret to get bigger plants and more blooms....d'ya think?

Anyway, I have to give him a call and ask what the cross was...

In time I will have some cuts to share - and will let everyone know - :~)

My gosh, Carol, peau de soie is as beautiful and elegant as the fabric, even if the rain mussed it a little - the color is wonderful!! Your other photo is so green, I love it!!!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)
