I've just had a really nice book out from the library. If you get a chance you might want to check it out. LOL Anyhow, it's called Perfect Plants Profiles of Special Plants for Your Garden, it's from Gardens Illustrated Magazine, Edited by Rosie Atkins. It's a bunch of really good articles written by people who are experts on each particular plant. Unfortunately I have to take my copy back today as somebody has a hold on it. Rats!

Them library peeps are a mean bunch aren't they?

Campbell River, BC(Zone 8a)

Yes, they sure are. They don't let you keep the books you like forever and they let other people request them so you can't even renew them a few times. *Ü*

LOL ;).......it looks like an excellent book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1592580548/qid=1110647810/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-4488976-2489636?v=glance&s=books

Just looked at our National ILLO System and Vancouver Public is the only location:

Library Symbol BVA

Your book is going to be a tough one to renew for quite a while.

Thanks, Sandy, it looks terrific--I've just called my library (in Wms Lk) and asked them to find it for me! Sounds like I might get it by next fall....

I bought a used copy Sandy If it comes in before the RU, I'll bring it and we can share. :D

Wow...you got a used copy Donna? I'm amazed because it's a very new book. When I got it I was delighted because it had some of those plants you had just got....the pineapple lilies.

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Actually, Amazon had quite a few used copies available. I am looking forward to reading it. I researched it a little bit and it sounds like just the kind of book to add to my collection. I have dealt with Amazon for a long time and have made many purchases through them, new and used, and have never had a moments problem with them.

Oh, you haven't got it yet. I didn't realize that. I hope you're going to like it. I'd feel bad if you bought it on my recommendation and then hated it.

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

I doubt I will hate it, Sandy. I did research it a bit before I ordered it. Sounds great and something I will be needing in the future. More details to follow....

LOL Well, you know what I mean. Actually, I'm sure you'll like it too.

Donna, are you ordering from Amazon in the States? I couldn't find the book at Amazon.ca.

If you are, what about exchange, shipping and duty??? Doesn't that do nasty things to the final price?

R.

Yep, sure am, Rosemary. That's where Pam's link led to. The final price was $19.96. Still a pretty decent price for a good book.

I usually try to buy books from Powells if I can't find what I want from a Cdn seller on ABE. Powells have free shipping if you buy enough books at a time.

I have a long list to buy when in Victoria - guess what. Not one single one of them is available in Victoria -according to ABE.
