I finally got a chance to take a few more pictures in the garden with the sun shining. The early rhodo is finally in full bloom. We're always a fair bit behind Victoria when it comes to rhododendrons I think.
More Spring Flowers
Behind Victoria she says, hmmmm? Well I could show you pictures of dirty somewhat melted snow, pot holes, and bare branches, How's that?
Ah is it a little noticeable that the rest of the country is just a *wee* bit jealous Sandy? ;) (we are still trying to *find* our roses to do the pruning at the correct time)
Wonderful pictures .......... Victoria will be full of color when we arrive!! :D

Lovely to see the spring flowers. I always look forward to the first ones, forgetting that the show won't quite be what I'm imagining. That big jackrabbit that just streaked by will probaly take care of a lot of pruning for me.
Love those small type species tulips.
Lovely pictures Sandy. I too, am envious. All I have blooming as yet are crocuses. Tulips won't be long now. I go out on a daily basis and talk to them about opening up. Won't be for another week or so, I'm afraid. How I love Rhodos. Mine are still sitting with just their buds showing. It will be at least April for them. But in just a few weeks, I'll be able to enjoy all the Rhodos in bloom in Victoria. :D
Yup, that's right Donna. It definitely won't be long before you're knee deep in flowers at home and in Victoria. The only trouble with this time of year though is allergies. The alder catkins are in full bloom or whatever it is they do and I'm dying here. I took the dog for a walk yesterday around that trail I showed you all a few weeks back. It was windy and the area is full of alder trees. The catkins were launching themselves at me....dropping down and hitting me. I was sneezing and my eyes were itchy, etc. etc. I was a mess by the time we finished. I'm already sneezing etc. this morning and I just got up. Does anybody else have allergies to alder and birch trees?
Beautiful Spring flowers!! One day we will get Spring here.
:) Donna
I have them too, Sandy. Not sure about which trees, but the Spring and Fall, I can have flare ups as well. I'll be sure not to forget the handy dandy ventalin, and of course, I never go anywhere without my Pulmicort.
Oh, I've never heard of either of those remedies Donna, but you're right...you'd better bring them. Just because things aren't out in your area doesn't mean they won't be in another and then you'd have to suffer until you got home again.
hey those two are my asthma buddies also.
I use Flonase and Opticrom for my eyes.
must be nice i just got another 2inches of snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't image that at the moment.
If anyone coming to the RU wants one of those purple violet plants let me know. We've got them everywhere so we could definitely spare some. I know they're kind of common but you never know...somebody might just need one.
Shawn, my sympathy. We're supposed to get some more tonight. Winter is not over here yet. (Off topic) Where have you been and how about some more pictures of your treasures? on another thread of course.
I'm with you Donna...one day soon.... I went Xcountry skiing today and was soooo happy when the trail was un-useable because of MUD..oh yeah bring it on... :)
Thanks of the cheerful crocus' nightowl2 - don't you just love the first signs of spring.
Jo
oooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooo! Thanks for the photos!
