Home Made Liqueurs

San Francisco, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi,

Does anyone make their own liqueurs? I guess this is common in Italy and other countries. Limoncella is the name of the most common Italian sweet lemon liqueur made from lemon zest, lemon juice, and sugar.

In the midwest, where I grew up, folks made something called Cherry Bounce, which is sour cherries and sugar steeped for a couple months in brandy.

It's Citrus season here, so I'm giving it a try with one made from orange zest and juice, vodka, and sugar.
