The good news is there is a test, that you can do which this article describes in detail!!! Also there is an easy cure, 6 days of giving your dog the monthly Ivermectin wormer I have used for all "our gang" for 15 years.

Ivermectin is not USDA approved for this application, or in the monthly wormer form I use, but the medicine is approved for use in HartGuard a monthly canine heartworm medicine. Please discuss with your vet, giving your dog this treatment. I personally would take the chance in a heartbeat if one of our dogs was suffering from what had been diagnosed as allergies, especially since the Scabies mite can be transferred to humans.
