DIY packaging & scotch tape

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I've started sowing many seeds received in recent trades, and I'd like to bring a problem to the attention of traders using scotch tape to seal their packets.

If you make DIY packets for trade, please do them with flaps that you can fold over and seal. I've received numerous packets that were simply folded over and taped around the edges. The problem is that seeds, especially the tiny ones, tend to stick to the scotch tape. I've dissected several packets and scraped out enough little seeds for my purposes, and I'm sure they'll be fine. It just seems like a readily avoidable problem.

I realize there are many reasons people make their own seed packets, from saving money to being able to include computer-printed images & descriptions, and that's great. I'm trying to be constructive rather than critical here. I'm not upset, but I figured some folks might be unaware that their method has any drawbacks. I don't know how to make a post like this not sound critical, so please take it as given that I'm not trying to be harsh or anything. I've encountered so much generosity here at DG that I don't want anybody thinking I'm just being picky!

Thanks!!

I've had that problem a time or two also.

Well said, Crit!
