We're still planning the plant swap I'm hosting from May 20 thru the 22. I live in Jonesboro, Ark., the northeast corner of the state, near the MO and TN borders. And MS is not too far from me either. So far, there's going to be about 15 or so of us here. Some are coming from NJ, TX, IN, AR, TN and KY. If you'd like to join us, check out my website:

On May 20, we plan to take a day trip over to TN to a daylily farm and a hosta farm, as well as some other nurseries I know about. The two farms are at the owners' homes. The daylily farm consists of 1500 different daylilies. And the hosta farm is just beautiful with tons of beautiful, huge hostas everywhere. The hosta farm also has daylilies and an assortment of other perennials. And it is just a spectacular view!
On the 21, the Master Gardeners in town are hosting a Tour of Gardens, and we will travel around town viewing other people's gardens and getting ideas for our own. This is a very informal tour. We travel to each home ourselves (no guided tours) and come and go as we please. We can see all the gardens or pick and choose the ones we want to see.
We'll also go to the Loose Caboose Festival in a neighboring town. It's a celebration of the railroad which goes thru the town. The town also has a train factory where parts of the boxcars are made.
On the 22nd, we will meet at my house for the plant swap, great food, and tantalizing conversation.
In our spare time, we'll visit the new nature center here in town and tour the ASU gardens and museum and anything else we wanna do.
You can come for all three days, or just the days you'd like to attend. Check out the website for more information and updates. There's a list of acceptable items to bring (basically anything edible (especially chocolate), as well as anything worthy of trading--whether garden related or not). If you want to stay a few days, there's a list of hotels, cabins, and campgrounds.
I also have a group set up where we've posted our trade lists and we discuss the swap a little more. If you'd like to join the group, let me know. We're all trying to set up trades in advance so we'll have a good idea of what to dig and pot.
I'd love to have a bunch of you here. The more the merrier. Some folks are making a vacation of it and staying for several days. If you'd like to join us, please let me know.

TRI-STATE PLANT SWAP - AR/TN/MO and MS too!
Where are all the Memphis gardeners? I'm only an hour from Memphis? Would love to meet some of you Memphians. A couple of ladies from the Memphis area will be here. This would be a great opportunity to meet gardeners in your own area.
And did I mention we're gonna have some awesome food? I plan to make a huge batch of tacos. Someone else is making lasagna. And I'll make my famous Banana Split Pie. See what you'll miss if you don't come?
