I have pictures of her blooms...but this is my very own first bloom.
She is a cross between H. lauterbachii X H. coronaria (or the other way around).

Yeah, they're talking about running off to Rio together.... I dunno. Two different cultures...? LOL
Carol what an amazing Hoya! Ü
Nice one Carol, so did you go out practising Golf when you saw the flower? :)
I wish!!!
Lovely photo, Carol.
By the way, what is Ed Guilding doing these days? Is he still in school ?
Mel
Yes, Ed's in a PhD. program at the University of Minnesota and loving it! He comes back to the Island every summer and runs around the property hybridizing anything in bloom!!!! This June he should have more to work with... His attempt crossing H. archboldiana with H. lacunosa didn't work...but I have some ginger crosses I am growing out. Bright young man!!! It amazes me to see someone pollinate a hoya with a needle and not have to wear glasses!!!
Carol
What's more amazing is someone who can thread a needle without any glasses!
Blessings,
Awanda - who can't thread a needle without glasses:-)
Thanks, I am glad to know Ed is doing well. He is most definatly bright and he also is very charming.
Heck, I can't even FIND the needle without glasses! As a matter of fact, some days I can't find my glasses without glasses!!!
BEAUTIFUL, CAROL!!! Now I can't wait for mine to bloom!!:)
Randy
Good air circulation, warmth and humidity...no problem!
:O)
I had no idea that hoyas blooms could get so big. They more I see, the more I am impressed.
Linda
Update:
The other three buds bloomed about 4 days after that first one...and ALL are still healthy and fresh looking....pretty amazine now nearly 2 weeks later!
Carol
UPDATE: The last 3 blooms are still on the plant: a bit faded-now a pale pink...but still there! That is 3 weeks by my count!!!
