bumping up for the weekend

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

Can you tell a little about these?

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I dont know much - I got them in a deal from a "mixed box of veggie seeds" I bought at a local feed store. I planted what I needed and wanted to offer the rest. They gave me the box for a few bucks but the seed where in brown paper bags with the name only. Your guess is like mine.

From what I can find out they are a wild plant that a a gourd like fruit. They don't look like they are edible.

Cut and paste this in you address bar -

http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/veggies/muskmelon1.html

It says

"Muskmelon, also known as cantaloupe, is a tender, heat-loving vegetable. Most varieties of the muskmelon have a musk smell; thus the name muskmelon. Muskmelon originated in India and were cultivated by settlers in the 1600's."

So I think that these are cantaloupe. At least they look like the seeds from a cantalope!

Good chance they are : What I read for an i my wife says is an 's. I wish they would type these! Ha then they would charge me more . . . Never can win. Oh well - let me know if you are interested.

Cantaloupe 'Hale's Best 45' (Cucumis melo)

I know they are a veggie or fruit and not a wild one from the bag I bought. So just looking for someone who wants to try em.

I will trade you for some of the melon seeds. What would you like. I have lots of flowers but not a lot of veggies yet.
