the soil stays damp most of the time. i thought i had good drainage....
they have good light and in 1 liter pots. plants are about 12" tall. i don't want to lose them i only have a few and i love them so much.
am i over-watering? they are otherwise healthy plants.

nadi, for now...until you put them out in the yard exposed to dry, hot air, once a week watering is best. I agree with Marie, water when it's dry. This is the best way to ensure you're brug's survival. Less is best.

Also brugs drop leaves. They are just made that way. I get some yellow leaves all the time and they just make more! Are your dropping leaves green?

Also I have had brugs lose all their leaves (this is not normal) and the plant fully leafs out again in less than a month once I correct the problem. So no need to panic unless the stems or trunk are showing problems! Just assess the environment again and re-evaluate what you are doing.

That too Kell. They do drop leaves and they will come back.

My Brugs drop them continuously throughout the Wintertime too. Lack of high humidity and insects could be contributing factors, but they DO GROW BACK! Not to worry!! :~)

this has all been great advise. thanks so much to everyone.
the leaves are green when thay drop. not yellow. i just barely touch the leaf and it falls. they look normal until i water or touch them and they drop. i have looked for mites and whiteflies but do not see anything. some have already started new leaf development. so those i am not as worried about.
i will let them all dry out and back off on the water.
i have not fertilized them at all.
thanks again

What if your plant got very cold and dropped all the leaves, but the stem is still solid and healthy, I got a plant in mail about three weeks ago and every leave was dead, and fell off, but no sign yet of new growth, the stem is about 28 inches high and has a BIG Y and then another Y PLEASE say it will grow more leaves.

Doris,
It will grow more leaves. They are very resilient. Leaves fall off all the time for various reasons, but they always come back. I have one side of my garage that have light on some and they all have leaves, but the other side with less light and it's cooler too, they have no leaves. I'm not worried about them. When it's pretty they will go outside and all the leaves will come back when I start to water them.

Sounds like you have a good root system going on and it's pretty much established. Not to worry. All is well.
