New to Brugs

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

I've just recently started growing brugs; I've gone from 0 to 12 in less than a month. Carol (Hawaii) is my brug (among other plants) enabler:-). This is one of my recent additions.

Blessings,
Awanda

Awanda, you will have a great looking plant out of that one, in no time. She has a good head start. Don't tell me that Carol sent you that one.................LOL! That would be quite a trip to make it with blooms and all. I'd say going from 0 to 12 in less than a month is pretty good. Don't forget to show us all your gorgeous blooms this summer. You are going to have so much fun with them. There aren't many blooms that are as satisfying or enjoyable to me as the brug blooms are.

Awanda, you sound like me when I started. LOL Thought I had to have every Brug that was out there.

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Carol the enabler didn't send this one, I got it from Home Depot. I do however have a couple of cuttings coming from the enabler:-). I'm fortunate enough to be able to grow brugs year round. I thought hoyas were addicting, but I think brugs may have them beat!

Blessings,
Awanda

Guilty As Charged! And, one of the FUN parts of this obsession is being able to share it on this forum...really a warm, funny, informed and enabling bunch.

Talking to Awanda about brugs...I came upon one of my reasons for liking them: they say abundance and generousity to me. The flowers are large, happily dancing away in the breeze and generous in their fragrance and beauty...gosh...I do go on, don't I?

Aloha,

Carol

Glad to see you see Awanda... :~}}

LOL Carol! Brugs are abundant in all, flowers and cuttings and fun!

Welcome Awanda. Glad you are already addicted, makes it easier on us all. Join in with lots of pictures. In your zone, you should have lots of flowers if it does not get too hot.

Hi Awanda, and welcome. That's a beauty, I've never found anything like that at my HD. Two years ago I had none, and now I can't count them. Probably 200 or more if you count all the seedlings. This is a very helpful group, you're going to love it here. LindaSC

Wow Carol said that this was a great group! Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, and encouraging my new addiction!! I traded a Black Jewel orchid for the yellow brug pictured, the next day or so I found two more Black Jewel Orchids at Trader Joes!!

Welcome Awanda! This is just the beginning of a wonderful Brug addiction!

Wish we had a "Trader Joe's" near me. I know their corporate headquarters is in the Boston area. My cousin's daughter works for them. I'll have to ask her to check out the Gardening Department for me and keep an eye out for the Black Jewel Orchid! Sounds scrumptious!!

Nice to meet you Awanda. I am relatively new to Brugs myself, but I only have 7, so you are even more gung-ho than I. They do tend to grab your attention though, don't they? Your's are lovely. I am still waiting for my first bloom. See you on the threads. Donna
