I didn't think it was going to bloom, but we've had some really nice temps and lot's of sun.

Thanks everyone!!! I was concerned last year about the White Bird's Of Paradise, but they apparently like where their planted in the backyard. I was amazed that they bloomed at all!! We had some light freezing and I forgot to cover them, but they just got a little freeze burn on their leaf tips is all. I think they've been planted for 2 years now and have just gone NUTTS!!
I just started growing the nepenthes last October. They are so unique and unusual! I had a gnat problem in the house and just a few of these had captured and ate every flying insect around!!! I'm serious!!! Within 24 hours there wasn't a fly/gnat to be found anywhere in the house! I was told to look inside the "pitchers" and they were full of gnats and flies!! LOL:) I'm thinking of using them outdoors this summer to help rid me of those bad mosquitos!
Randy
Rumor has it here that if you plant enough of them around your property you won't have mosquitos....I wonder how many plants I would need for 12 acres!!!! ACK!
Carol
The mosquitos are really bad here in Houston.

Hi Randy,
Love the BOP blooms, how tall is your plant,I've had one 7 yrs,now growing in a container,it has been potted up several times, keeps breaking the pots with there roots, and has had several babies growing now beside the mother, but has never bloomed, what do you feed yours?
And are you growing it in full sun?
Thanks
