Too heavy of blooms

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Look at all these poor beautiful flowers on the ground. :-(
I walked out front over the weekend and saw a hugh branch hanging from the trunck. It was so full of blooms and we had a sprinkling of rain, so it just couldn't hold up.

After cutting it all up, I have lots of pieces rooting for anyone wanting some Golden Lady.

Now that is one of the most beautiful plants I have ever seen! I just love Golden Lady. Amazing. Now you have to grow a hot pink on the other side to thrill us with! A huge hot pink. LOL. Maybe Shirley's double pink to match the double GL!!!
THANKS you really made my day!

Here is the pile of cuttings for sharing. I will put all of these in water to get them started rooting.

Ok, I got to know how old is that, and did you have to cut it back alot to get it to be so bushy, it's absolutely heavenly. I just love the picture.

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my GL.

I received this small cutting from Cala - Susie, when she was cleaning out her stash when she moved from Tenn. I had it in a pot for awhile, until it had some growth on it, I planted it in it's current spot about 2 years ago. This brug has been amazing since I planted it. It took off immediately and hasn't stop growing. The main trunk is the width of my hand and I've had to trim it back along the little walkway of my house and on the neighbors side too. My house faces north, so during the winter it gets a little more shade, but in the summer it is in full sun all day.

Shirley, the neighbors do not appreciate this plant at all. The husband always asks me how much bigger it's going to get and the wife shuts her windows at night, cause she doesn't like the smell. I don't worry about what they think anymore, as I have to put up with their yucky Ficus trees in the back yard and all those roots. Oh, and the house is not for sale....plus the price tag would make you faint. lol

I have returned several emails to people wishing cuttings. Anyone who still wants some, please contact me, I have lots left. lol

That's unbelievable, who wouldn't love the smell of those brugs, I wish mine were blooming in the greenhouse, cause when they were the smell in there was wonderful. LOL can't please everybody LOL, Does it ever wilt when it's in full sun and very hot outside. When mine are in full sun, even when their just watered, their wilting alot. I have to keep them in partly shadey area.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Kathy,

My Brugs don't wilt in my area. I live 3 miles from the Pacific ocean and when it's hot ouside, it's not really that hot as we get a nice cool breeze. I also don't have any humidity that can zap their energy. lol

Whew, talk about zone envy, WOW!!! Beautiful Donna, I thought it was going to be a sad story, little did I know you have a one tree forest, most impressive...

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

That is one big beautiful brug. Obviously it loves the spot that it is in. The fragrance must be wonderful in your yard now.

oh that just makes me want to cry.

The ONLY reason I'm not begging for cuttings is because I cannot go down on my knee because of my broken ankle - your brug

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Hey - Donna, I would LOVE a cutting!!!!! We still have snow on the ground and more coming down. Sad situation here....my only light is my brugs!!! I still have many in their winter sleep. Let me know what the next step is in order to get some of your beauty!! (brugs..)

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I love it ... awesome!!

Joseph, OR(Zone 5a)

Hi Donna,
Some cool pics! I tried to root two Golden Ladies last year and failed terribly! All my others were great, but just couldn't get the ladies to root. If you still have some, I would love to try a few cuttings.

Thanks!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

If you have not recieved an email from me regarding getting a cutting, I will get to you all soon. I have had quite a few requests and I'm trying to see how many I have left to share.

Thank you for understanding.

Donna

Laurens, SC(Zone 8a)

I'd love one if you have any left! LMK!! Thanks!! I do have some other kinds I could trade if you like. Right now they are being held as possible replacements in case I lose any from this Winter but I think they all survived outside!! Bonnie/Servants_heart

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Really, Bonnie/Swevants_heart, I'm in your zone, but in Arky - are you seeing new growth, or did you dig down to see. I mulched mine heavily, broke my ankle, can't get out there to see yet because of the rain and soggy ground, and, drats, the scooter for my ankle doesn't have snow tires and chains! Do you expect more freezing weather and, if so, will you have to cover them??? TIA!!!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Just an update on sending these cuttings out. I mailed out quite a few on Friday, and will mail out lots more tomorrow. I will email you as I send yours out.

Several people requested some, and I let them know they were on a "any left" list. I will keep you informed as I get all of these mailed.

Thanks,
Donna
