Thanks! That hoya has been at that nursery for at least 4 years. It was just pure luck that I got it that cheap! I think it was originally marked $16.99.

Randy,
I'll have to get a list of good places in Houston that sell hoyas from you so next time I'm in the area, I'll know where to go. He!he!

My SIL lives in downtown Houston & my inlaws are in Weimar. We usually go in June to visit but they decided to come here this year. Bummer for me, I had several places I wanted to go to.

Have you ever been to Jerry's Jungle? If not, lmk & I'll give you the info. I've never been but had looked forward to visit him this year until our plans were changed. He's having a sale in April.

Wtg Randy , let them grow the kerri for 4 Years and then buy it for a bargain price. Well they say patience pays :)

Right, Milan!!! Thanks again for your welcoming me. I really love this group!!!! Everyone is so nice and helpful!!!

Gemila, Ive never heard of Jerry's Jungle. If your SIL lives in downtown you need to visit "Another Place in Time", their located in the Heights right outside of downtown Houston. Another great place is "Joshua's Native Plants", he's also in the Heights! Another Place in Time is where I bought the h. kerrii. I love both nursery's. Joshua's always has small rooted hoyas for like $3-5!!! He always has something different each time I go there. Another Place in Time is cool to. It's an old turn of the century bungalow house, that they've turned the front and back yard into an enchanting garden/nursery. Next time your down I'll give you directions to both places; their only like a mile from one another.

Randy, thanks for the info. I guess it probably won't be till next year since they are coming here this year. We drive down since its cheaper for us.

Here is a link to Jerry's Jungle http://www.jerrysjungle.com/Index%20Page.htm
From what I understand, this is his personal garden that he gives tours of (by appointment). He then started to take cuttings/divisions of his extra plants & now has 4 sales a year. The person who told me about this said the sale days are packed and the prices are pretty cheap or reasonable. Click on upcoming events & you'll see the next sale days in April. In the past, he had alot more pictures of his garden posted. It trully looked like a jungle (to me paradise) but must have been removed. Anyhow, I hope you are able to attend, get some goodies & tell us all what we missed.

Hi Randy!
Another Place in Time is my favorite local plant place. I have another tip for you. Go check out the greenhouse at Cornelius Nursery on Voss. Robert Muney manages the greenhouse Monday - Friday. He will take your name and number for the hoya contact list if you wish. He calls me and others when he gets a hoya shipment, and usually asks me to come and ID them for him. They arrive with tags such as Hoya "Big Bloomer" and I have to go look at it and tell him it's Hoya kentiana. He always corrects the tags and makes note of it for future reference. Occasionally he will buy from a plant broker and turn up with something very interesting.

Annual March Mart plant sale at Mercer Arboretum on the 18th & 19th. Not to be missed. You won't find hoya there, but will find just about anything else.

Oh Gemila, I'm sorry you won't be able to come down!!! I'll definately try to make an appointment to go to "Jerry's", it sounds really neat!!! I will also post anything I get there for everyone to see. Thanks so much for the link:)

Hi, Susan. I actually live really close to Cornelius Nursery on Voss. I'm actually smack dabb between Cornelius and Another Place in Time. LOL:) I'll definately go check out Cornelius Nursery. That's funny that you mentioned Mercer! The owner of Houston Garden World told me about his trip to there and that I should definately make plans to attend! I will try to make plans to go to it. It's up near Humble, right? I think I went there like 12 years ago with a friend. We actually got lost looking for antiques and stumbled across Mercer Arboretum.

Thanks,
Randy
