New pond need advice

Mobile, AL(Zone 8b)

I just moved from Louisiana to Mississippi. I did not want to put my pre shaped pond in the ground (renting). I could use some advice on what I should plant around the outside of the pond. I plan on adding some rocks around the edges to cover the bricks. I have lots of LA Iris that I plan on using in the back. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Betty

I saw one in a magazine that was surrounded by landscaping stones (the preformed ones) and a raised bed was built in around that. I am thinking of doing something similar. Then it wouldn't matter what the pants were, because the stones would hide the pond sides. You could make the raised bed as wide as your space allows.

Thoes pre shaped stones are great but very expenive. It would cost me about 500 dollars to do that. I have some large bloder type stones I want to hide the cinder blocks and sides with they put some color around that.

You could do as was suggested and make a raised bed using landscape timbers or railroad ties. And then the timbers could serve as seating as well. Folks could sit on the timbers with the sound of the water behind them.

Thanks for the suggestions Judy and Nancy Ann. I am checking out all kinds of options.
