I have started my hoya collection. I have a "lacanosa". I have had it over one year & it hangs over
its basket approx. 10". All of a sudden the leaves at the base of the plant started turning brown and dying. Now the stems at ground level are brown & look bad. The leaves & stems at the end of the branch still look good. Root rot? To much water? Do I need to take cuttings before its to late.

I would definitely take cuttings, gmisener. I would also carefully tip the plant out of its' pot and check the roots...it does sound like root rot. How often do you water it? What kind of soil/medium is it planted in?..let us know.

Aloha,

Carol
