Steve and I create artwork from wood and some years ago painted these parrots he cut from wood and placed on the fence with some driftwood from the Chesapeake Bay.
I picked up the birdcage an an antique shop and found a metal parrot just the right size to hang inside it. I spray painted the cage black and the tray and feed dishes with gold paint. The little birds love to fly in there and nibble the seed in peace without the crows bothering them.
