snails/escargot for my racoons

Ellijay, GA

I have used snails to control the algae in my pond but I have trouble with the racoons consuming hundreds of "escargot" for breakfast.I would like to have any ideas or suggestions as to how to control this problem or any other suggestions for the control of algae in my pond.

We were just discussing controlling algae. Check out this thread.

As for raccoons, I have no solution. Last summer those vile, evil creatures killed many of my guineas. I tried to make my pond with a sharp enough drop off so the raccoons could not get to my fish. We will see ths summer if it works. However I am already missing 4-5 fish but it is hard to say what happened to them. There are motion detection water sprinklers but I don't know if they work.
