Brug Help Please

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

I want to put about brug's that are about 3 to 4 feet tall already into the ground into a kinda of octangular bed that has part of it's section up against the wall. Basicallt the octagon is about 35' across.

I didn't grow em, but I want em. LOL. Will they take full sun down here in zone 8 a/b ? What are some companions plants that will look good with them? Will they come back next year? What is the best soil type for them?

Would appreciate any advice and help. Thank you!

Are you anywhere near Lay Lake Al.?

This is just my opinion, but I think you might want them to have some shade in the heat of the day. If it would happen to be an extremely hot summer, the blooms could melt in the heat and not come back. I find that when it starts hitting around 95, they don't like it very much being situated in the full sun. For soil....good soil that is loose and well draining would be ideal. Make sure they are fed a lot and they should do well for you. Maybe someone from AL. will come along and tell you how they have done it. That would be the best advice you could get. Good luck with your flower bed.

Thank you for the temp advice. These would be out in full sun and the temps get over the hundreds during the summer. Guess I gonna have to think about another place to put them if they melt like that in the heat.

Sometimes it is a terrible thing to have too much sun and not enough shade. ( sigh)

It's bad the other way too. LOL! I hope you find some shade. If not, you might consider buying some shade cloth and putting it up to help them. I know it doesn't look gorgeous, but it would save them from meltdown.
