Hello;
I'm a farmer from Turkey. I would like to start growing medicinal and / or aromatic herbs. However, choosing the right herbs to start with is a tough decision. Finding climactic and soil requirements for herbs is relatively easy compared to finding the market demand and prices. At the moment, echinecea tops my list of candidates.
If anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful. The growing season starts early May and ends in early October where I farm. Summers are hot, winter temperatures some seasons down to 5 degrees F. I have sandy soil; I use drip irrigation.

are you growing plants for sale or planning to sell dried herbs & extracts?
I assume you have a mediterranean climate so you should try to grow the type of plants they have in Provence (south of France): thyme, rosemary, lavender, fennel, savory...etc
Welcome to DG, k. pince!!
You might try posting in our "Market Grower's" Forum, where many folks raise herbs to sell...
