Mammillaria
Mammillaria huitzilopochtli
flowering plant in February southern California without the long, white spines.. under synonym M elegans.
Mammillaria (Mammillaria huitzilopochtli)
Palmbob,
If this is in fact M. geminispina, even though the reddish-brown central spines would indicate that it is a different species, then it is the 'brevispina' variety.
Would you like to have this photo moved to the M. geminispina var. brevispina page?
Xeno.
sure
What do you think about this being M. huitzilopochtli instead?
It has the same red-brown central spines and the same white radials. It also has the same pink-magenta flowers and same body shape.

could be... sold to be as geminispina, but that doesn't mean they know what it was.
I think M. huitzilopochtli is a much closer representation of your photo, would you agree to have it moved?
Xeno.
yes
