Hi Do any of you have mail order sites? The only one I know of is Liz. Might as well keep the $ in the family! Joelle

Good Idea. I'd like to keep in amongst us too as well if I can. I have a web site , but is health related and nothing to do with gardening.

Well lets have a peek anyway Linda. It would be nice to get to 'know' you. Joelle

CannaAskForMore (Craig, isn't it?) from Toronto has a website doesn't he? I was sure that I made his site a favourite, but I can't find it. I remember he had some gorgeous Cannas. Does anyone else have his website address?

CannaAskforMore sent me this link.

That's it! Now that I think of it, I think his name was Grant. Anyway, I have made it a favourite ...again. Thanks Brenda.

Oh how exciting! Thank you, I wonder how long it will take me to kill a Bannana tree!

What kind of banana is it? They're pretty easy to grow.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3a)

I think I would try either or both of these:Ensete ventricosum or Musa basjoo. Would you plant them in the ground for the summer and pot up in the winter. I leave the GH between 50-55 in the winter. Would you cut them back to the soil and let them dry out a bit. Or keep them un-cut and slightly moist. Or grow in the house for the winter- no really good south windows. What is the proper method.? Thanking you in advance. Joelle

LOL, it only took me 5 months to kill my banana. I think it was too wet and cold for it this winter. In my covered enclosed deck, some nights it got down to around 40*F and it was too wet. I didn't notice that it was under a drip spot when it rained, so it got way more water than I ever gave it. However, I have another one now, and am trying again.

Linda

I grow musa bajoo in my garden and leave it there all winter. But my zone is 8b. I have a musa ensete maurelli which I grow in a large pot on the deck and bring it into the conservatory for the winter. Min. temp is about 55 F. Its thriving beautifully but I don't water it a lot in the winter, even inside.

Here's a few more:

http://www.floraexotica.ca/ Perrynguyen's site

as well as

http://www.plantsofperfection.com/ Christine's site

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

I didn't know Christine was a DG member. Do you know what her user name is?

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Cristine is a DG member.......however she isn't a subscribing member. Her user name is Cristine with a letter after it. Since she is young and rather new I believe she found paying a little difficult along with trying to get her business going. She belonged to Dave's before paying subscriptions were implemented.

I believe this is her page but I may be wrong: http://davesgarden.com/members/CristinaH/ She prolly won't check it very often....she is very busy after her move.

I have ordered form her in the past. I was impressed with her products as well as her business etiquette. She is a very nice lady.

What did you order Donna, plants?

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Yup.

Hey girl, could you be more specific please.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3a)

Thanks Pam! Is Perry a paying subscriber? Has anyone ordered from him. I would love to order the blue butterfly bush---Great price!!!! Joelle

Oh I should add that It doesn't matter to me if some one is a paying subscriber, I just would love the opportunity to see and shop at Canadian DG'ers sites. Thanks everyone for all your help. I new that you long timers would point me in the right direction. Helping me with my addiction... shame on you all, your like drug pushers! LOL!! Thanks again, Joelle
