March comes in like a...

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Which is it for you in "your neck of the woods"? Lion or Lamb?

I'd have to say Lamb here. Temperature this morning at 6:00 am this morning was 3C and it was so refreshing after a much needed shower overnight. Our high is 9C with hopefully more showers to come.

BIG LION here. We're in the middle of a lake effect snow storm. 10-15 cm already and about that much more to come.

Happy March!!

Christine.

Lamb for sure! It has been around 10C for the past couple of days and the forecast for the next week is for more of the same. Some double digit highs with 13 degrees forecast for the weekend. I'll believe it when I see it - those weather guys can't seem to predict it right even one day ahead!

:( Hang in there, Christine!

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Lamb here as well. Ü Currently -2C and this afternoon we should be at +2C in ☼ Sunny Saskatchewan ☼. Noticed we have warm double digits in the short to long range forecast for us as well.......tho like you Susan I'll believe it when I feel it. ;)

Wondering now how March will be leaving us. :S

Just watched the weather channel........take care out there Eastern Canada!!

Shannon just posted a map of this weather system in the poll thread - http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/488092/ - some storm we be having here!! With luck, my office will close early...lol.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Yep.....I noticed that the weather channel was warning everyone to make sure their cars had emergency supplies. For some reason or other tho I have the feeling you won't be too sad if your sent home early Christine. ;)

As much as I love my job, its pretty slow right now, and I'm bored to tears. There's so much I could be doing at home, and the cats prefer me to be home too...lol. No, it wouldn't break my heart ... please close early....please close early....

It's raining here and windy. Definitely in like a lion compared to the sunny February weather that we had. The rain is needed though, there is no snowpack on the mountains, the ski hill isn't even open.

Winnipeg,, MB(Zone 3a)

Like a lamb here in Winnipeg, sun is shinning. looks like a lovely day

Yes, it's a bit windy and rainy here but not bad. A meek lion I guess.

Precipice Valley, BC(Zone 2a)

A very bored lamb here in the Chilcotin. Rain clouds coming our way from Bella Coola are flirting with some pallid sunshine. Warm enough in the greenhouse to make me think of moving some of my more cumbersome houseplants down there, but that would be very risky as last year at this time it suddenly dropped to -23.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Yep, it was definitely Lion-ville here today....several inches of snow. The roads & sidewalks are a mess. Officially we didn't close early at work, but the hallways sure were empty by 3:00 or so. Wish we could send some of this moisture west, sounds like you folks could use it more in the long run. Not in the form of that white sh...stuff though, eh Donna! :-D

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

We were a lamb...sunny, light winds and -2 C today. We are suppose to get rain and wind tomorrow so our lion is a day late!

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

You can have it, Todd....we're all done with it now! :-) Although I'm surprised there's anything left in those clouds.

Cochrane, ON(Zone 2b)

Definitely a lion here. Wind chill is -36º & the poor little birds could hardly hold on to the tree branches all day.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Oh broots you have my very sincere sympathies!!!

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Yikes! Is it any better this morning, Susan?

Cochrane, ON(Zone 2b)

Hi Shannon. broots = Linda
It has warmed up a bit. Was -38º early this morning but now that the sun is out it is about -30º. You wouldn't believe the number of birds at the feeders this a.m. Has to be over 200. I will be glad when the little Redpolls head back to the Arctic. They sure do empty those feeders fast.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Woops....I knew that....must've been my turn to mix up names. I was so proud of myself for remembering, too...now where did I get Susan from?? Maybe durtcom, in Alberta. Anyway, I'm sorry Linda! Thanks for setting me straight.

We have a lot of house finches here these days, and a few cardinals, which are really nice to see on a dreary day. What do Redpolls look like? (reddish, I'm guessing-?)

Cochrane, ON(Zone 2b)

That's ok Shannon. I get names mixed up too.

Here's the little redpolls. Not very pretty but they have to eat too.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I remember one winter when my parents had hundreds of them in their yard....very small with very red heads.

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Aww, I think they are cure. Great link, Linda. I was just wondering this morning on my early walk how to identify certain bird songs/calls. This site looks perfect!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8a)

North Van..........a little lion and lamb! Not too cold at the moment, 12C......worked on one of my gardens, top-dressing, etc...lookin' good so far! a little rain, t'il Thursday, maybe Fri....then 15C on Saturday, which is wanted for my rose clinic! hpy gdning everyone! E.....By the way, all coastal cookies, the flowering fruit trees are in bloom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)
