And blooming again too. Except for December and January, she's been blooming since late summer. And there was one other bloom in the middle of summer. She gets fed well. :-)

Dorothie, do you know the exact name of the plant with the purple flowers in the pic.
Nice picture by the way.

John,

The plant is Statice. I believe that it is grown as an annual in colder climates - while it is a semi-evergreen perennial here. They did advertise it in a website in Colorado though so you should be safe. It comes in pink, white, and in different cultivars, but this is very nice.

Family: Plumbaginaceae (plum-baj-i-NAY-see-ee) (Info)
Genus: Limonium (lim-OH-nee-um) (Info)
Species: perezii (per-EZ-ee-eye) (Info)

It blooms very heavily from midsummer to fall. Here it really doesn't stop, but it does slow down in the winter. It's blooming now. I'm sure you have received it with other flowers from the florist. It's great filler, and dries very well.

Thanks for helping me out with this one, i'm really glad to ID it now.
A couple years ago we went to Gran Canaria and i saw this plant at the garden from the Hotel where we stayed.
Walking to the beach i saw a seedling between the stones of the sidewalk, i recognized it and thook it with me. I thought i was a limonium but was not sure of it.
So you know the story how i got it and it wasn't from a florist :)

John, caught you red handed stealing plants. What is the world coming to? Is it a perennial or an annual in your garden?

Moerkerke_Damme, Belgium(Zone 7b)

O dear, me stealin plants no way. It was in a public sidewalk, and i'm the public LOL
I got it in a pot dear, it would freeze to death here. it's in my Orangerie(overwinterings area)

Just thought I'd check it's hardiness. It's either to the orangerie an annual I guess. Want some seeds? It grows like a weed here.

Moerkerke_Damme, Belgium(Zone 7b)

Thanks for offering dear. But an Orangerie is kind a greenhouse for mediterainian plants. I got a heating inside. So it's a evergreen here. But blooms only in summertime. I made a pic from it last summer but the picture went poof, if i'll find it back i let you now.
When i ever loose it, i know who to call for asking seed now. :)

John, I figured that your "Citrus house" was heated. :-) (brrr)I lost a lemon tree to a weird frost we had about 20 years ago. Since they were selling it in Colorado though, which is high and really cold with short growing times, I thought that it must be able to be grown as an annual.
