When is a good time ot plant freesia bulbs? I'm in zone 8b.
When to plant freesia
You can plant them now, no problem. Plant them in a sunny spot.
Freesia's can also be planted in the Fall.
Okay, I'll plant them next time I get a chance. I bought them last fall, but usually our winters here are very wet so I didn't want to risk them rotting before spring arrived.
Wet weather does not matter....as long as the soil drains very well, so never plant them (or all other bulbs) in an area where water stays on top of the soil for more than an hour. Plant them on an elevation.
Emily, check the Plant File http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/2721/index.html. There is a lot of helpful information.

Hi Ursula,
Thank you so much for the link--a lot of great information there. As suggested in the plantfile, I'm going to plant them in a container instead of in one of my beds since our summers tend to be dry and hot.

I'm glad the link helped!
