Joined a couple of days ago and have been having fun browsing messages on the forum. My greatest interest is learning to garden in this great state of wonderful vistas but great gardening challenges (New Mexico). Xeriscaping is all too frequently "xero" scaping here. A local joke is "how do we arrange the rocks". Seriously, while a challenge from more verdant climates, gardening in Albuquerque has led me to research waterwise plants and to a greater appreciation of natives. While filled with colorful rocks, my gardens are also filled with color from penstemons, agaves, and lavenders that were a huge challenge to grow in the southeast. And, thankfully, my beloved iris love the climate. You all seem like a great group of folks with whom to discuss passionate gardening (is there any other kind?).

I'm just plugging along and will light wherever I can, in line, to say Hi. I hope you are enjoying yourself here.
Welcome verdeNM, my wife and I just subscribed about ten days ago and we love this site. Welcome to you and enjoy the incredible resource this site is.
Welcome! I was just in Las Vegas in January and very surprised what they are doing there. Very creative. They have a law now that anyone who buys property from here out has to do low water usage yards. Saw some very attractive ones.
Welcome Verde!! I love it here in the geat SW too....here is a site that you might enjoy. Jo

Thanks for the welcomes! Albuquerque is enjoying bright blue sky and warm temps today. It is one of those days that tempts you to forget that the average last frost date is still a month away!

Howdy! I'm looking forward to seeing photos of your gardens! Please post 'em up when you get a chance. I'm always on the lookout for ideas I can steal... er, um attempt to recreate in my own yard.
