through another winter.
They look terrible right now as they have been in a hot, dry room since last fall with little sun.
Dh carried the bigger ones out to the GH and they all got some fertilizer yesterday. It's hard to imagine they will be full of leaves and flowers in a few months.
I have only 3 trees left in the house and they are too tall for the GH. DH doesn't want to cut them back and is going to dig holes in the GH floor to make them fit.
It's either that or raise the roof. LOL
They made it....
It's Official Now !!!!! The 2005 brug season is now underway. I can't wait to see all your blooms, Terry.
I like Golden Lady. She never fails to give us pretty blooms. There is that nice clean greenhouse floor again. I went to the nursery to get a bag of mulch to freshen my floor and came home without it. I was having so much fun looking at all the plants that mulch became non important. Fresh mulch just makes it look so clean in there. I'll have to go another time and hope I can remember then.
WOW, that's the same gh that was covered with snow about a week ago. How warm is it for you now? I had several days in the 70s, but it's 40-50s again for the next week.
This summer, my goal is to build a new gh, tell me about yours (size, name etc). LindaSC
Every single time I see your GH I'm in awe at how clean it always is! It always motivates me to get off my butt and clean my house. LOL....
ooh, lookin good already, Terrie -
Gee - now I'm really thinking about storing my brugs in pots and letting them go dormant or as cuttings in water all winter to save space.
Glad to hear golden lady is such a good performer. I just bought a nice plant from Beloved1 (Alice) on ebay. Lookin forward to seeing her bloom this summer.
I also just got a butterfly - 24" tall. I KNOW, I KNOW,....first I complain about not having enough space and then I just keep getting more. ugh...I'm hopeless.
Diane
Linda it is 10 degrees out right now. It was 8 below last night.
Once the heat is going it keeps the snow off the GH but we have to shovel the sides where it falls.
It's a 12 x 20 with a 15 ft extention which we close off to preserve heat.
datdog you ought to see my house after spending a week in the GH getting it ready.
I envy any of you with Brugs. And Snowhermit, your greenhouse does look beautiful. If you have the greenhouse, do you even need worry about what the house looks like? - Richard
They look good Terry! I have to wait for the bubble wrap to be delievered to isolate the Greenhouse.
Terry, Your greenhouse looks fantastic, picture perfect.
... and I agree with Richard LOL
Spotless as usual Terry! In all your pictures, I never could figure out where than GH is situated in your yard. The bears have never bothered it? I had a coon or possum tear mine up years ago.
Can't wait to see GL when she blooms again. Do you get the nice orangy blush on her in cool weather?
So, how do the bears like the GH?? Your thick trunked brug on the front, with the giant Y is almost as amazing as the bears...
Way to go, Terry!!!! I just want your greenhouse and brugs.....lol.
:) Donna
They look great Terry! I agree ... the greenhouse looks great too, it always has.
everything your wonderful Terry. Your're all set not except for warm temps
Thanks everyone but it's really not spotless. You just can't see the dirt with my trick camera. LOL
Vi the GH used to be 15 ft from the house. After the 1st year of me hanging onto the fence and sliding across the ice to water the plants DH extended it 15 ft and attached it to the house. He took out two windows in our bedroom and made a doorway going right into the GH. I no longer have to go outside in the snow and ice to get to it.
The bear haven't bothered it and I hope they don't as I would hate to wake up with one of them in my BR. :)
Wow Terry,
You sure have everything looking good !
I'd call that a dream set-up .
Wow, you can walk from your bedroom into a greenhouse of blooming brugs? Absolutely a dream set up! Lucky lady!
I will also have to say that the cleanliness of Terry's greenhouse has always amazed me from the first time that I saw it a number of years ago. Mine always seems to be a mess . . I guess because I work and plant in it. Even when I water, some of the soil seems to manage to get out and get on my shelves/tables where small plants and seedlings are sitting. Even if I potted up outside, mine would still not clean like Terry's. I am sweeping the floor all the time and you would not believe the pile of soil that I sweep up. . . lol . . messy me . . I guess.
Me too, Frannie. We must be Messy Marvin's. LOL
I was going to buy some new mulch to put on the floor of mine to make it look cleaner, but I decided I'd wait until I'm through making messes.
LOL Shirley, my problem is I ever get thru making messes of some kind or other.
Gosh, I continually mess the place up, even with astroturf, lol, but, rain or shine, it stays green all year round!!
Well that's a plus, Sherry. It stays green. LOL
Looks fresh mowed all the time and it was free! Wish they had some 'fresh mowed' spray, you know, like that 'new car' spray, lol!!!
